This latch has a long handle (2-1/8")
Short handle (1-3/16") is also available
Most of the time the plastic latch breaks.
The housing is extremely hard to remove and the best replacement is replacing just the nylon latch.
1. To remove old latch pull straight out moving up and down gently. The lever needs to be in the center of the lock housing when pulling.
2. Insert new nylon latch and center in housing so the spindle can go into the hole.
3. Install your Pella screen door handle set.
